The word “threadcount” is a little bit like the word “tog”. Anyone who is out buying bed linen or coverings will see that word a lot, but you mightn’t exactly know what it means.
So let’s explain.
Threadcount is just what it says on the can: the count of the amount of thread used in a fabric or cloth.
So the higher the thread count, the better the quality. And we like to provide a quality, comfortable, indeed a luxurious bed experience, so we go for a high thread count, and in cotton too.
Once upon a time, i.e. back in the 1960s, a thread count of 80 was considered good.
Nowadays that’s not the case. Here at Top Drawer Shleep, our products have a thread count of 400. Yes that’s 400.
Come and touch and feel and you’ll notice the difference!
Our own range of duvet and pillow covers, and our fitted sheets, they’re all 400 threadcount. Not to mention the white goose down and mulberry silk pillows, and feather beds.
We source our silks and cottons from all over the world; we go to China, India, Portugal and the US several times a year to check out the new trends and feel the textures for ourselves.
If you’d like to know more about any aspect of our products, give us a ring, or drop in and see our great range. And feel the quality of that threadcount!
